The silence thing …
The silence thing fine, but no music at all? That doesn’t seem right to me. I’m not making a case for death metal, but what about other types of music? Have to have music.

@smashinmelancholy – they seem to say that some music is uplifting for the soul (they DO say Bach was one of theirs and they were able to play his music), while other types aren’t (rock&roll?). Still, in their kind of society silence is something they could all agree on as beautiful. But imagine if each of them imposed on the others the type of music THEY liked (like we do, forcing others to listen to our car music, mobile tones, etc). That would be the end of their harmony…

This film is directed by Coline Serreau, who is also the actress playing Mila. A couple of weeks ago, she presented a documentary called “Local solutions for global disorder” (Solutions locales pour un désordre global”, about organic farming and returning to a local dimension. Also very inspiring! Thanks for uploading (and translating) this one, I hadn’t seen it.
