@p717 I completely agree that as long as you have a corruptible government that can come up with an excuse to distort the market, then capitalism will turn into corporatism. That isn’t an argument though that we shouldn’t have capitalism. That’s an argument that we shouldn’t have corruptible governments with the ability to distort the market.

The ultimate goal of capitalism is to rob talent or labor of it’s wealth produce. From the humble beginnings of mercantilism to today’s corporatism, that’s all capitalism has ever done. You can’t separate corporatism from capitalism. Corporations were meant to be temporary, and it’s capitalism that demands their permanence to justify the dividend checks–at the expense of the market, consumers, and commonwealth.
