Anarcho-Capitalism II: Justice & Defense – Part 5

Barry Belmont, the 2008-2009 president of the UNR Students for Liberty has made another case for an anarcho-capitalist society. In this lecture, he will address the free-rider problem, public choice theory, and a brief history of States with diverse examples from evolutionary biology, philosophy, economics, and what you already think!

Put simply, this lecture will attempt to convince you that anarcho-capitalism is a viable theory that should be put into practice.

Politically speaking, what comes to mind when I say "Anarcho-Capitalism"?

For me a certain place comes to mind….Ancient Israel.

I know this probably surprises a lot of you, but according to the Bible Ancient Israel lived in a stateless society for 450 years. There was NO taxation. Yes, they had the tithe, but there was no punishment for not paying the tithe. They were even warned about the oppression that results from government.

Hmm…maybe Christians should be Anarcho-Capitalists…What say you?
@yanling, yes the kings were corrupt, but Israel was not under kings until they pleaded to God for them so that they could be like all of the other nations around them.

Remember, I said for 450 years….Israel’s history is much longer than 450 years.

Tithing started during Adam and Eve time from the beginning. Before any civilization existed, where the community lived closely under God’s guidance. We know this in bible, where we know that Adam and Eve children had given God their tithe.

However, The New Testament nowhere designates a percentage of income a person should set aside, but only says it is to be “in keeping with income” (1 Corinthians 16:2). Some in the Christian church have taken the 10 percent figure from the Old Testament tithe and applied it as a “recommended minimum” for Christians in their giving. The New Testament talks about the importance and benefits of giving. We are to give as we are able. Sometimes that means giving more than 10 percent; sometimes that may mean giving less. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. Every Christian should diligently pray and seek God’s wisdom in the matter of participating in tithing and/or how much to give (James 1:5). Above all, all tithes and offerings should be given with pure motives and an attitude of worship to God and service to the body of Christ. “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

The truth about new covenant blood of Jesus, is that tithe is not by percentage but by God’s revelation to you. You should pray to God and let Him give you the revelation of how much you should give to the church. Not by 10% law. The key is give cheerfully and willingly, otherwise whatever you give is useless and will not have the effect of blessing.

Absolute Monarchism,Fascism,Anarcho-Capitalism,all three are considered far right, yet…?

Have little to nothing in common with each other. The far left(anarchists, communists, syndicalists),on the other hand, have some ideas in common…
Am I the only one who thinks the left-right spectrum is ridiculous, and should be replaced with something else?
Most people consider regular anarchists leftists, but Anarcho-Capitalists rightists.

Possibly…or that some perceptions of who belongs where on that spectrum are patently false.

One writer who was born in Eastern Europe and fled both the Nazis and the Commies states that we have a false scale, as you do. But what he suggests isn’t THAT different, with its broad Left/Right fields. He says there is only the Anglo-American system, and the Franco-Germanic system. Can you guess who is who and who belongs where? It’s not hard. But this has two broad fields at either end, that can contain a cluster or family of mutated political systems. Maybe even the middle could be that way, I haven’t read the book in years or given that part of it much thought. But it’s at least not quite a simple one line scale.

The whole Left-Right thing comes from the French Revolution era(which may only increase your ardor to replace it, hah). The Left was..well, the Left…while the Right was whatever the Left said it was at any given time. In that view, the only defined point that meant anything was the Left, while everyone they hated was "right wing" whether or not the "right" had anything to do with each other from country to country. That’s why it doesn’t make any sense. It’s sort of like if Nazi standards for race, skull size, IQ, racial mythology, etc. any of it became the standard for all the Non-Nazis, for all the Jews/Slavs/etc, for all people who may have even hated Nazis.

The Left roves from country to country decrying everything as "right" but all that means is "counter revolutionary", that is all. In fact, some elements of the Left can even be "counter revolutionary", so the skewed scale is dependent not just on the Left but who is representative of/in power at the time. Russian Socialists declared Ukrainian Socialists "counter revolutionary" when they opposed becoming Russia’s plaything. So the Ukraine was eaten by the USSR and all those Ukrainian commies were "counter revolutionary". Sometimes "nationalism" is used as a decision-making tool for who is Left or Right, though nationalism would seem a weak sauce way of drawing political borders considering all the other differences, eh? Would anyone consider a Bolshevik a "Right winger" if he was a "patriot" or "nationalist"? Almost certainly not. But we have National Bolsheviks, and now we even have user "Nazbol Pride, Worldwide".

What’s interesting is that you put "Syndicalist" on the Left. It would seem natural, but there were Syndicalists who were also Nationalists. "National Syndicalists". For some reason these Italians are classified on the opposite end from the Syndicalists you named…

The Anarcho-Capitalist Manifesto: Preface

Preface

The chapters of this book will be issued over the next few days/weeks. The book is entirely authored by myself. I am speaking on behalf of our movement throughout the pamphlet.

Some anarchists (ancaps, not commies) might object that I am writing a “manifesto” because Marx wrote a manifesto too. I understand this sentiment, but it is of the utmost importance that we lay out or political objectives for the entire world to see. One thing to note: this is not a call for “revolution.” We are not socialists or communists, so there is no need for a “revolutionary” language.

The global statist mafia are beginning to realize that we are not going anywhere. The global anti-statist movement is becoming more and more powerful. Soon a black and gold dawn shall rise and the capitalist order shall rule the world!

Yours for Life, liberty, property, and the market,

Is anyone here a fan of Anarcho-Capitalism?

It’s very tough to find pure anarcho capitalism in America today due to statists existing wanting to control everything.

But a good example of Anarcho-Capitalism would be the internet. There are PRIVATELY ran organizations that self regulate and come up with rules and guidelines. The FCC doesn’t censor Yahoo Answers for example. It’s Yahoo Answers that desires censorship because of the underage users. It’s in Yahoo Answers best interest to have censorship. As a porrn website for example will not have censorship for obvious reasons.

The idea of no regulations isn’t so crazy when you look at the internet. It’s always in the companies best interest to meet their customers demand. Not guaranteed, and if not they probably will face consequences for reckless actions.

I say the consumer knows best, not government regulations.
I am not speaking of crime, like harming another person in some shape or form. Rather having products/service traded on a consent basis.
