What is the Marxist philosophy of history?

‘Marxist’ history has little to do with Karl Marx. ‘Marxist’ history proclaims that economics is the most important driving force in human events, and that history is made up of constant conflict between different social classes–Between the upper class and middle class, middle class vs, poor, etc.

How does Obama’s "Spread the Wealth Around" plan differ from the Marxist philosophy of wealth redistribution?

Obama Tells Tax-Burdened Plumber the Plan is to ‘Spread the Wealth Around’

http://www.breitbart.tv/html/195153.html

Exactly! Obama was a student of the teachings of Saul Alinsky, a radical Marxist from the 1930’s-1972. He believes in wealth distribution and Michelle has been quoted, as saying that America doesn’t need much. America needs to learn to share. Everyone should have a piece of that apple pie.

Michelle used Alinsky’s words during her speech at the DNC, but said that they were Obama’s words. She said, "Barack stood up that day," talking about a visit to Chicago neighborhoods, "and spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about "The world as it is" and "The world as it should be…"

And, "All of us driven by a simple belief that the world as it is just won’t do – that we have an obligation to fight for the world as it should be."

Here’s an excerpt from Chapter 2 of Saul Alinsky’s book, Rules for Radicals:

"The means-and-ends moralists, constantly obsessed with the ethics of the means used by the Have-Nots against the Haves, should search themselves as to their real political position. In fact, they are passive — but real — allies of the Haves…The most unethical of all means is the non-use of any means… The standards of judgment must be rooted in the whys and wherefores of life as it is lived, the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be."

Also, the media has barely touched on the fact that his white grandfather was a Marxist, who chose Frank Marshall Davis, an infamous African Communist, living in Hawaii, to be Obama’s mentor. Obama attributes his values to Frank in one of his books, but does not include Frank’s last and middle name. I guess it is obvious why he did not include that.

Alinsky asserted that he was more concerned with the acquisition of power than anything else: "My aim here is to suggest how to organize for power: how to get it and how to use it." This is not to be done with assistance to the poor, nor even by organizing the poor to demand assistance: "Even if all the low-income parts of our population were organized … it would not be powerful enough to get significant, basic, needed changes."

Alinsky advises his followers that the poor have no power and that the real target is the middle class: "Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America’s white middle class. That is where the power is. … Our rebels have contemptuously rejected the values and the way of life of the middle class. They have stigmatized it as materialistic, decadent, bourgeois, degenerate, imperialistic, war-mongering, brutalized and corrupt. They are right; but we must begin from where we are if we are to build power for change, and the power and the people are in the middle class majority."

But that didn’t stop Alinsky and his followers from using the middle class for their own purposes. They counted on the guilt and shame of the white middle class to get what they wanted. In order to take over institutions and get power, the middle class had to be convinced that they were somehow lucky winners in "life’s lottery."

Alinsky’s radicals found a perfect vehicle for their destruction of the American system and more particularly for taking and maintaining power. That instrument was the Democratic Party.

Obama has been pandering to the middle class, just like he learned to do from studying the teachings of Saul Alinsky. Eyes wide open, America. Think before you push the button that is taking us beyond into /Marxism/Communism.

How did soviet communism differ from Marxist philosophy?

Soviet Communism was almost the antithesis (exact opposite) of Marxist philosophy. Marx believed in a perfect, utopian soceity, where everyone was truely equal, work was shared, and everyone received an equal share of the outcome.
Soviet Communism claimed to be based on Marxist ideals, but some leaders, especially Stalin, took it the the other extreme. Lenin tried to run the country on Marxist idels, but he died too soon to make much of an effect. Stalin ruined Marx’s dreams when he instituted the Secret Police, and ran a bloody murderous regime. The Secret Police controlled the masses through fear and threats. Under Stalin, the richer only gained more money and power, while the poorer lived in fear of the government.
The leaders who took power after Stalin were a little better, but still didn’t follow Marxist ideals. Overall, Karl Marx’s utopian society worked on paper, but failed miserably when applied as a basis for a government.

What would your parents say or have said about a socialist/marxist or marxist philosophy in the oval office?

future, im sorry, maybe im confused. can you please explain to me why a presidents statement of INVOLUNTARY REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH "isnt socialist"…thanks.

My parents, both gone, now, would have been appalled at the government we now have. They would have been shocked by the number of people in America so keen to get something for nothing that they would, as Jefferson said, "vote themselves largesse"… or, worse yet, place someone in the White House with instructions to carry out their wishes.

The increasing Governmental intrusion into the lives of private citizens would have enraged them. I’m glad they know nothing about it, or at least I hope they don’t.

Does anyone know where this Marxist philosophy originates?

"if the alienation and exploitation associated with classes are eradicated, and people are freed to develop their human potential and “find themselves” as in a truly socialist society, religion will no longer be needed and will cease to exist."

I found it in one of his essays, quoted it and wrote down the references, but then lost them because I’m careless like that, can anyone tell me off the top of their head which piece it’s from?
Sorry, I meant to say I knew it was Marx but which essay?

Critique of Hengels? Thank you so much

Karl Marx. He was a child molesting opiate addict who couldn’t hold down a job.
