What are the fundamental values of a republican?
I asked a question here today about being liberal, but before I asked, I looked up liberalism online, and it was easy to find a description of it.
After reading the reactions and answers to that question, it seems that republicans really hate liberals and feel that the description of liberal I found was wrong. If those republicans would do some reading before answering, they would see it is not wrong and liberalism is what it is, with small differences, but fundamentally the same. Republicans seem to confuse a liberal with a socialist…
So I wanted to compare liberalism with republicanism but I can’t seem to find a good description for republicanism…
What I did find was this;
Republicanism is the ideology of governing a nation as a republic, with an emphasis on liberty, rule of law, popular sovereignty and the civic virtue practiced by citizens. Republicanism always stands in opposition to any form of dictatorship or tyranny in the political realm. More broadly, it refers to a political system that protects liberty, especially by incorporating a rule of law that cannot be arbitrarily ignored by the government. As John Adams put it, “They define a republic to be a government of laws, and not of men.” Much of the literature deals with the issue of what sort of values and behavior by the citizens is necessary if the republic is to survive and flourish; the emphasis has been on widespread citizen participation, civic virtue, and opposition to corruption."

And on the Republican party page I found this as political ideology;
Historical;
Abolitionism
Classical liberalism
Progressivism
Social liberalism
Modern:
Conservatism
Fiscal conservatism
Social conservatism
Neoconservatism

(look in the right column)
So what I make of a republican now, is that they don’t really exist, because a republic is not an ideology, but a way to govern a country. A republican doesn’t really have core values like a socialist or liberal has, but at one point in time, republicans were actually liberals themselves…
So that’s why I ask this question;
What are the fundamental values of a republican?
The sick and infirm neo-con Party uses the billions of dollars saved by not providing health care to eliminate and kill people around the world who don’t see things their way. How much more depravity is the Republican Party capable of? The GOP hits a new low when it denies people the medical attention they require. The GOP goes even lower when they fund depleted uranium, phosphorous bombs, cluster bombs, shock and awe, etc., over child inoculations, pre-natal care, dialysis, PTSD, etc. This is the Republican Party that shoves its Lord and Savior, Jesus, down everyone’s throats the way it shoves tubes down hunger strikers in GTMO. Given the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus has a hot place reserved for Republicans. If there was a reason Hell to exist, it would be you. Yes, you who profess Judeo-Christian ethics as you ignore them. You who lock up the hungry for pilfering food as you steal oil. You who protect discarded blastocysts under the guise that "all life is precious" as you drop high altitude bombs on pregnant women and children.
When Dick Cheney needs a new battery for his pacemaker, the national media lets the world know. The media, the propaganda wing of the neo-conservative junta, sets the priorities. The Ministry of Public Opinion (MOPO) tells us when George W. Bush has his colonoscopy. It tells us we should give a damn about Dick Cheney’s ticker. It tells us we should give a damn as it doesn’t give a damn about us or our family members. We are supposed to care about the so-called first family. As for us and ours, well, screw you!

It’s not that long ago that republicans stood for what democrats stand for now. The paradigm shift happened with the reevangelization of the southwest and the influx of crazy religious cooks who effectively couped the whole party in the late 80s early 90s.
Fundamental republican values today therefore consist of the same sort of hypocrisy, anti-science, anti-education, and anti-humanitarianism we see in religion, where god rules all, and these people pretend to speak for him.

Theses are my fundamental opinion of the Republican Party:
1) Isn’t a party "for the people by the people"They only serve a few interest groups, lobbyist & corporations.
2)Although, they label the others of being liberals and prod claiming to be Conservatives they have a track of out spending socialism to benefit only a few 10% of the population.
3)When it comes to moral values and family issues they are the most hypocritical party ever, There’s been more scandals within the party such as: corruption, homosexuality, extramarital affairs, lying and deception only to mention a few.
Fortunately, the Republican Party isn’t a party that represents me or my moral core values and for that effect the majority of America.
